Up to 6,400GB Storage and up to 12 Fibre Channel Host Ports
The StorMaster SNi-1600 is a high-availability server that incorporates storage capacities of 4,000GB to 6,400GB with the latest Serial ATA, Fibre Channel and network protocol technologies. Its 3U Rackmount chassis features 16 hot-swappable disk drives, triple redundant hot-swappable 650 Watt N+1 power supply, dual 10/100/1000 Copper Gigabit Ethernet, dual 3.06GHz Xeon processors, and dual independent RAID controllers. The StorMaster SNi-1600 supports up to 4GB ECC Registered system memory, and up to twelve 2Gb LC Optical Fibre Channel host ports.

NAS & iSCSI IP Trunking for Increased Bandwidth & Availability
IP Trunking ensures non-stop availability of the StorMaster SNi when used as a NAS and/or iSCSI Server by pinpointing network bottlenecks and physical/logical faults and instantly rerouting network traffic around these faults. Peak performance is also enhanced by load balancing, the automatic distribution of NAS/iSCSI Server traffic among the server's storage paths.

Snapshots for Point-in-Time Disk Copies
Creates an independent, point-in-time copy of a storage volume on demand, which can serve as a backup for mission-critical data. The snapshot engine is automatically triggered to ensure that the resulting drive's contents are identical to the source as a single instance in time, giving administrators an easy and reliable way to take a "snapshot" of a data set that is actively being accessed. When the snapshot copy is complete, the new drive can be assigned to application servers with full read/write access.

Storage Volume Virtualization
Since virtual volumes can span across multiple physical device boundaries, a virtualized storage environment maximizes storage utilization, helping to avoid idle or unused storage space. Administrators can allocate more storage where it's being used or is almost used up, and less storage where it's not needed. This prevents the common practice of over-allocating storage in an attempt to prevent running out of space, or the equally common under-allocation. Virtualization enables administrators to respond immediately to changing storage needs.

Remote Management & Available Options
StorMaster SNi Servers support up to 512 LUNs within the enclosure, and up to 16 host connections to Windows, NetWare and Linux workstations and servers. A Java GUI console allows for remote management, centralized access control, reporting and diagnostics via Ethernet. Available upgrade options include delta-based snapshots, IP-based delta replication, synchronous mirroring, and local disk/file/directory replication.
