The FlexStor-NAS™ 800e Serial ATA RAID NAS is a high-availability NAS server that incorporates storage capacities of 288GB to 3,200GB (3.2TB) with the latest NAS and Serial ATA RAID technologies. High performance features include choice of single or dual Xeon processors, up to 4GB RAM and dual 10/100/1000 copper gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Data protection is ensured with a hardware RAID 5 controller (RAID 6 optional), and all 8 disk drives are hot-swappable from the front of the unit.
Not only is your data protected with your choice of RAID 1, 5 or 10, but you can also manage your file server remotely with a web browser over your company's network. What's more, the FlexStor-NAS 800e comes standard with a CD-ROM, eliminating the hassle of trying to hook up an external CD-ROM to your NAS server every time you want to install a new piece of software like many other NAS appliances currently on the market. Installation and setup are a breeze, allowing the FlexStor-NAS 800e to be up and running in about 15 minutes after it is unpacked from the box.
Not only is the FlexStor-NAS 800e Xeon RAID NAS great as a stand-alone network-attached storage device, but it is also highly expandable as well. With the integrated Dual-Channel Ultra320 SCSI controller, you can connect one or more direct-attached RAID subsystems to the FlexStor-NAS 800e to vastly increase your available fault-tolerant storage capacities.
Or for even higher throughput, choose the optional 2Gb Optical Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter available with either single, dual or quad-ports -- allowing you to expand the FlexStor-NAS 800e with up to 4 Fibre Channel RAID subsystems scaling up to an additional 25 TeraBytes of storage.
All FlexStor-NAS Servers are powered by Windows Storage Server 2003 and Storage Manager. Windows Storage Server allows the FlexStor-NAS to be used as a file server, domain controller, application server, web server, name server, print server, streaming media server, and more!
Windows Storage Server 2003 includes Remote Desktop which allows system administrators to remotely manage the FlexStor-NAS Server from anywhere in the world. It also includes Volume Shadow Copy Service which makes storage and back up easier, while reducing demands on system administrators. Volume Shadow Copy technology enables you to retrieve old copies of deleted files right from your Windows desktop.
