TaskMaster™ 10000 RAID series are intelligent and innovative storage subsystems for mission critical and high bandwidth applications. Based on a modular design, all internal connections are through backplane or PCBA module. The cableless design eliminates the problems associated with cable interconnects to offer a higher level of reliability.
RAID Functionality
TaskMaster 10000 RAID is equipped with either single or redundant Ultra160 SCSI RAID controllers to offer fault-tolerant data protection. It is 100% transparent to the host operating system. It offers full-featured data protection supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, and 5. It also supports fax and pager event notifications, and SAF-TE compliance features. For higher data rates and extended cable lengths, the TaskMaster 10000 RAID features Ultra160 SCSI host interface providing data throughput rates up to 160MB/s. TaskMaster 10000 RAID features one or two Ultra160 to Ultra160 SCSI RAID controllers in 5.25" half-height form factor with an easy-to-read menu-driven LCD display of array/drive status and array configuration commands. It comes with fault and activity LEDs, Up, Select, Down and Exit buttons for easy operation.
Environmental Features
TaskMaster 10000 RAID Single Controller Rackmount is equipped with one ENC, environmental controller (not available with Dual Controller units). The ENC accurately monitors the internal environment of the disk enclosure such as power supplies, temperature, voltage and cooling fans. The ENC not only monitors enclosure temperature, but also can monitor the temperature for each hard disk drive. This is to ensure high performance and reliability of the subsystem. Unlike PCI bus-based RAID, the TaskMaster 10000 RAID requires no custom drivers to the host operating systems, thus providing fully transparent operation. It supports remote array management and environment monitoring through the serial port interface accessible via a PC or terminal.
Design Features
TaskMaster 10000 RAID subsystems come with 10 hot-swappable Ultra320 SCSI drive drives and trays. Reliability is insured with load sharing hot swappable 400 Watt power supplies. The TaskMaster 10000 RAID's module, scalable design makes expansion easy when storage needs increase. It is the ideal storage solution for applications requiring high data throughput, availability, and flexibility in configuration.
