High performance features include single or dual Xeon processors, up to 16GB RAM, dual channel Ultra320 SCSI, dual 10/100/1000 copper gigabit Ethernet connectivity, redundant 650 Watt N+1 power supplies, and an advanced cooling system.
This fault-tolerant data storage comes in a convenient, space-saving 3U Rackmount chassis with hot-swappable drives and trays, a quadruple redundant hot-swappable load-sharing 650 Watt N+1 power supply, and an advanced cooling system. Your data is protected with your choice of RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, and 50 across sixteen hot-swappable Ultra320 SCSI disk drives, on a high-performance dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI hardware RAID controller.
Installation and setup are a breeze, allowing the FlexStor-NAS 1603 Ultra320 SCSI RAID NAS to be up and running in about 15 minutes after it is unpacked from the box. Additional software, including backup client or server applications, may be loaded on the NAS via its integrated CD-ROM drive.
All FlexStor-NAS Servers are powered by Windows Storage Server 2003 and Storage Manager. Windows Storage Server allows the FlexStor-NAS to be used as a file server, domain controller, application server, web server, name server, print server, streaming media server, and more!
Windows Storage Server 2003 includes Remote Desktop and an intuitive browser-based management interface, which allow system administrators to remotely manage the FlexStor-NAS Server from anywhere in the world. It also includes Volume Shadow Copy Service which makes storage and back up easier, while reducing demands on system administrators. Volume Shadow Copy technology enables you to retrieve old copies of deleted files right from your Windows desktop.
Not only is the FlexStor-NAS 1603 Xeon Ultra320 SCSI RAID NAS great as a stand-alone network-attached storage device, but it is also highly expandable as well. An integrated Dual-Channel Ultra320 SCSI controller allows the FlexStor-NAS 1603 to be connected to external Ultra320 SCSI-attached RAID subsystems to vastly increase your available fault-tolerant storage capacities. An external tape backup device can also be connected to this SCSI controller for disaster recovery.
